Richtig ist aber auch: einige regionale Firmen haben sich dem Problem angenommen und binden seit über 1.5 Jahren erfolgreich die mit DSL unterversorgten Stadtteile breitbandig per WLAN an. Namentlich sind das www.stadtnetz-kl.de und www.free42.de

Dabei wurde keine - für DSL typische - asymmetrische Bandbreitenverteilung gewählt, sondern man erhält für knapp 30€ eine Flatrate mit symmetrischem Zugang (bis zu 1000 MBit/s). Die vorhandenen Angebote sind günstig, bewährt, laufen mit Standard-Hardware und sind somit nicht nur wegen des höheren Upstreams dem Angebot von A**** überlegen.

Was für Vorteile hat man, wenn ein kleiner, regionaler Provider die Versorgung übernimmt?

Einer der WLAN-Provider bietet an allen seinen Accesspoints in Kaiserslautern freien Zugang zu regionalen Webseiten an. Keine lange Anmeldung notwendig: WLAN einschalten, auf DHCP warten und los gehts. An einem zentralen Accesspoint in der Innenstadt (Fußgängerzone) ist der Surf-Zugang sogar zum kompletten Internet kostenlos freigeschaltet.

Ich bin gespannt, ob neue Anbieter (namentlich A****) auch so etwas anbieten werden.
